MiniKickers, U5 and U6 FAQs
Here are our most common questions when signing up a new player with Coventry Soccer Association.
Please be aware that there are some differences between our Spring and Fall Developmental Sessions that are noted below.
- Where are practices?
For Spring Developmental:
All games and practices are at the main Fish Hill Soccer Complex
For Fall Developmental:
To preserve the main Fish Hill Soccer Complex fields. The majority of team practices are held at facilities throughout Coventry, including the following locations
* Fish Hill Soccer Complex (Softball Side)
* Hunters Crossing
* Colonial Acres
* Coventry Public Works (Across from the Library) - What time and day are practices?
Coaches determine the practice nights and times. This won’t be decided until we establish our list of coaches. Your child’s coach will relay this information to you as soon as possible. - Does my child need a uniform?
For Spring Developmental:
For our more casual spring session, uniforms are not need/provided, though we do provide shirts for Mini-Kickers and other age groups when available.
For Fall Developmental:
Your registration fee includes a uniform consisting of a colored shirt, matching color socks, and black shorts. - What do I need to provide for my child?
You will need shin guards, a soccer ball, water and we suggest cleats. Note that cleats need to be soccer cleats. Anything with a toe cleat, such as baseball or football cleats, are not allowed. - What size soccer ball does my child need?
U4, U5, U6, U8 all use a standard Size 3 soccer ball - My Child is 3 years old, is that too young to start playing?
That’s the perfect age for our MiniKickers developmental program. MiniKickers helps to get the kids acclimated to the field, other players and to have fun while learning the basics
